Shotokan
Shotokan is the style of karate that Ken, Ryu, Dan, Sakura and
Akuma (from the Street Fighter series) use. I guess Shotokan
is, at its heart, 3 moves.
- qcf+punch (hadoken or fireball)
- f,d,df+punch (shoryuken or dragon punch)
- qcb+kick. (tetsumakisenpu kyaku or whirlwind kick)
It seems that every fighing game since Street Fighter has these
moves (and the stick motion) incorperated into at least one of its
fighters. Just off the top of my head there is
- Jago: Killer instinct
- Sho, Kayin, Eji: Battle Arena Toshinden
- Batsu, Hideo: Rival Schools
- Terry Bogard, Fuuma, Ryo, countless others: SNK games in general
You get the idea. All of these fighters share the 3 prime moves
and ususally all 3 of those moves are performed the same way that
Ryu does em.
Although Heihachi, Jin, Devil, Kazuya don't have a qcf+punch style
projectile attack, they all have f,d,df+punch uppercut, and the
tatsumakisenpuukyaku (only, they do thiers as f,d,df+4.)
