Paul Pheonix

Paul is a great beginners player. His judo style stems from 4 moves.
  1. pheonix smasher = qcf+2
  2. thruster = qcf+1
  3. hammerfist (and its variations)= d+1
  4. bone breaker = d+4~2

Pheonix Smasher- Paul really really really wants to do the pheonix smasher. It hits mid, it hits fast, it hits hard, it can take off over half of your opponants life on a counterhit. The only reason not to use the pheonix smasher is because it can be reversed.

The Thruster looks just like the pheonix smasher, only, in the last instant paul hits you with an rushing elbow instead of a stiff arm. The thruster stuns on a clean hit. It will pop up on a counter hit. It's pretty safe if blocked. It CANNOT BE REVERSED. In fact, the only weakness of the thruster, is that it hits high, and can be ducked! But if you can anticipate your opponant ducking, bust out the pheonix smasher. :) have fun.

The hammer fist comes down like a hammer. It can be followed up by 2 conventional attacks...

  1. hammer fist to power punch = d+1,2 (hits mid mid) good for counterstrikes and interrupts
  2. hammer fist to bone breaker= d+1,4~2 this the ultra frustrating switch up, (mid, quck low, mid)

Finally, the bone breaker. Paul's only real low attack. use it when in very close range to trip up your opponant. The Bone breaker is most effective in wake up games... as soon as your opponant even twitches, serve up a toasty bone breaker to keep him down.
